From the Principal’s Desk:
Run, Running Sports, Race,It seems fitting on our Track and Field day to revisit some of the “tips and tricks for running the Christian race” from our grades 2 and 3 chapel led by Miss Amanda Loewen a few weeks ago. Sport can certainly illustrate our Christian life as well:
  1. We need to be on the right track: “the gate is small and the road is narrow that leads to life. Only a few people find it” (Matthew 7:14 NIrV).
  2. How we qualify: “the free gift of God’s grace makes us right with him. Christ Jesus paid the price to set us free” (Romans 3:24).
  3. There will be hurdles! “You were running a good race. Who has kept you from obeying the truth?” (Galatians 5:7)
  4. There is a goal and prizes! “I push myself forward toward the goal to win the prize. God has appointed me to win it. The heavenly prize is Christ Jesus himself” (Philippians 3:14).
  5. There are spectators! “A huge cloud of witnesses is all around us. So let us throw off everything that stands in our way” (Hebrews 12:1).
Let us remember that everything we do at Immanuel is in the wider context of seeking to advance His kingdom as our students grow in mind, body and spirit! Thank-you to all who helped out at today’s track and field meet, making the day possible, and social! Well done to all our students, trying for personal bests!

This image rendered as PNG inG.I.F.T.S Forms are (Over) Due! ICS is dependent on parental involvement, not only is this essential to operate the school, it also builds Christian community among students, parents, staff and supporters.  You can count hours up until the end of June, and the deadline was 31 May in order to allow us to get tuition invoices out!
Families not completing GIFTS hours, or without forms handed in, should expect that they would share financially in the support of ICS by paying the set premium fee (currently $200). Take a look at policy 11.10 Getting Involved For The Students: goo.gl/GoEsdg.

CameraPhotos for sale: The promotions committee will be selling the current 11x14 photos

that are displayed in the hallway by the gym. To cover the costs of printing for the next

year we are asking $15 per photo. These photos make great keepsakes.Stop by to take

a look. First come first serve!

FROM THE CLASSROOMS
File:Librarian.pngICS Library: All books are to be returned to the library by June 6th. There will be no more checkouts after this date, so students should bring books from home (or church or public library) for class silent reading time. However, students still reading for their AR goal should see Mrs. Robinson for check-out extensions. In the meantime, search high and low for ICS library books. Starting next week, students will receive overdue lists indicating books still listed on their account.
Thank you!: Our Library has again received a donation from the Aylmer Police Association as they strive to “promote and contribute to youth literacy within our community’s elementary schools”. We appreciate their gift, which will be used to buy new books. Keep an eye out for their sticker inside the front cover!
