From the Principal’s Desk:
We’ve been reaching out for your thoughts a lot over these past few weeks, asking for input on myself, on teacher reviews for Ms Karista Smeets or Mr Paul Bierman, and asking for your reactions to our Celebration of Learning. Your feedback is valuable. We want to be growing in our teaching, in our leadership, and in the content of our educational program! Your feedback is also very encouraging as we deal with the complexities of each day, and of each child. I wanted to share one supporter’s reflection in that regard about how the Celebration of Learning, “helps me appreciate the creativity that is encouraged in the children…. As the school year winds down, I would think this ‘fires up’ learning again - lots of positive energy.” Thank-you for sharing with us!
In Christian education, Keith Cameron, Principal and Chief Operating Officer

Bluewater District PD Day - Your teachers met in Strathroy last Friday with colleagues from the Bluewater District. We heard from two OACS teachers who are very excited about the culture and climate that the Responsive Classroom approach has helped support in their schools (Timothy Christian and Halton Hills Christian). The approach is consistent with, and would work best, in a Christian worldview. A common approach to learning helps unite a school and gives consistency across teachers, while still allowing for individual gifts and preferences. Ms Pieters and Mr Cameron will participate in a site visit at Halton Hills this Friday as we look at Responsive Classroom in action!
