ICS Spirit Wear: check out the possibilities on:  www.immanuelchristianschool.wikispaces.com/ICS+Spirit+Wear.
From the Principal’s Desk:
In Monday’s staff devotions, we talked about seeking to develop stamina amongst our students. The development of stamina, pursuing a task diligently even if it’s hard, is an explicit part of our Daily 5 approach to literacy development in our classrooms. Stamina is also something we especially need as we approach the end of the school year, and stamina is very different from “just making it”. Stamina is part of our call as a Christian school in “whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters” (Col 3:23). And, in His grace, our Lord provides daily strength and wisdom to our teachers, students and parents - may our trust be in Him as we finish this year well!
In Christian education, Keith Cameron, Principal and Chief Operating Officer
Praying for our parents: Please join us as we pray for Keith and Amanda Cameron & Henry and Jacqi Dalm.
Please continue to remember the Lockyer family in your prayers as Keli-lyn’s father has now been admitted to the hospital.
Praying for our staff: Please pray for our Grade 2/3 teacher Ms. Loewen.

REMINDERS:
G.I.F.T hours: Your gift hours forms are now due.  You can still count hours up until the end of June, but we need to have the sheets handed in asap in order to get the tuition invoices out. Families not completing GIFTS hours should expect that they would share financially in the support of ICS by paying the set premium fee (currently $200). We will call anyone missing a form once, after which we will need to add the premium onto next year’s tuition invoices.
Tuition Reduction Incentive Plan (T.R.I.P): Trip orders are attached, due June 8 with pick up on Wednesday June 14th. The gifts cards we have instock will be available throughout the summer from Annette Dykxhoorn (519)860-6332 and Janina Dykxhoorn (519)709-6620, Clovermead or Roszell’s, however we will not be placing our monthly orders.  Please purchase any cards needed for the summer in June’s monthly order form. Clovermead Adventure Farm passes are also available through Annette & Janina, or from Roszell’s.  Save the tax and help the school, we get 100% profit from the sale of the passes.
Meat & Baked Goods: Pickup changed to June 16th from 2:30-4pm. Coolers with names are recommended.
We are still seeking 2+ new ICS families for 2017-2018!
  • Our JK program still has room at a price 60% lower than our full tuition!
  • 20% New to ICS Incentive! This ICS discount for a family new to full-time Christian education is worth $2500!
  • Plus a possible $1500-$2500 Off with the Christian School Foundation New Family Incentive! Do you need a “nudge” to reassure you as you enrol? We can apply for a bursary! Up to $1500 regardless of ability to pay, higher amounts based on financial need. Applications for Foundation funds can be made by May 15.

FROM THE CLASSROOMS…
“Fidget spinners” are quite popular right now amongst our students. Without routines and a student understanding of their purpose, they are not inherently helpful to learning. Like any other item (phones, iPods, games, toys), these can be used for good or for distraction. We suggest that names should be on all items brought to school to avoid losses and misunderstandings. As our normal policy, if any item is proving a distraction in class, the item may be temporarily confiscated to be returned to the student at a later time, and perhaps to be brought back home for good.

OVERDUE BOOKS: Parents, refer to the email sent last Thurs for the list of books that need to be back (NOTE: this did not include the books due this week). To help with the return process, any student with overdue book(s) will NOT be allowed to sign out books this Thursday’s library class. LIBRARY CLOSED AS OF JUNE 8:All books are due to be returned. Students should bring books from home for classroom silent reading periods. AR READING: Students reading to reach their goals may make special arrangements with Mrs R
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY: INVENTORY WEEK: It was great to get some calls/messages from volunteers! You are welcome, too, for a couple hours or a part of a day. Inventory days are Mon., June 12 (9-12), Tuesday, June 13 to Friday, June 16 (9-3:30). Let Mrs R know or just pop into the library to help.
THANK YOU to the Aylmer Police Association for its recent donation of $50! These funds are designated to provide books for students, and we have determined that the best way to get lots of books to lots of students is by buying books for the library. Watch for their sticker in books purchased with their donation. Thanks for including us in this program!
PUBLIC LIBRARY SRC: Looking for exciting ways to fill your days this summer?  Aylmer Library has planned a summer of exciting activities, a community scavenger hunt, special performances by Canadian talent, and of course, books, books, and more books!

MacDonald who will be handing out a special  Canada day gift to the first 100 kids who visit us..
