From the Principal’s Desk:
I want to invite you into a staff meeting discussion from this Monday after school. We were doing a roundtable on “Beautiful Work.” As a teaching staff, we believe that our commitments to Mastery of Knowledge and Skill, and Culture and Character (our other 2 dimensions) find their realization in the beautiful work we pursue together. We shared what we are doing in our classes and across our school to foster beautiful work. Let’s share with you too!
  • Using technology to capture our work, especially voice (Vocaroo) and visuals like gym skills
  • A “great work” board in class
  • A commitment to rough drafts, refining protocols, a “let’s go back” approach
  • A “best work” folder, with student-selected work
  • Public displays, especially our Christmas Celebration of the Arts and our Easter Celebration of Drama and Learning, but also including our doors, hallways and bulletin boards.
  • Taking time to train in our work (including gym class and sports teams), character-building effort as we push close to the “I can’t do it” point…
  • Being proud of the products of our learning, like our 10-5-2-1-0 jingle for the health unit
  • Sending our work home so that you, too, can talk about it and appreciate the Christian learning going on here!
Yours in Christian education, Keith Cameron, Principal and Chief Operating Officer
Each week, during staff devotions we join in prayer for our parents and staff members. We invite you to do so as well.
